September 22nd 1990 was a turning point for Nirvana when they played their largest gig to date when they played at the Motor Sports International Garage, where they played to 15,000 people. In their audience was Dave Grohl who would be auditioning to play the drums a few days later.

22nd of September 1973 seen The Rolling Stones get their 8th UK No.1 album that was also a No.1 in America with "Goats Head Soup". This stayed No.1 in the UK for two weeks in a row.
